Peggy J. Griffin

Peggy J. Griffin, 79, of Hudson, NC (formerly of Corbin)passed away on Monday, September 12, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Griffin; parents Floyd and Rena Sweat Housley; brothers Jimmy and Lloyd Housley; and a great granddaughter Alexis Griffin.
Peggy enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, particularly her grandchildren and her dog Tessie. She loved going to her grandchildren's ball games and shopping anywhere but especially Sam's Club. She enjoyed working at a local family owned restaurant where she had made many friends who loved her dearly. She made an impression on many lives and will be greatly missed.
Peggy is survived by her daughter Brenda Poynter and husband Gary; son Randy Griffin; brothers Kenneth, Bobby, George and Eddie Housley; sisters Jesse Anderson, Margaret Peters, Mary Owens, and Sandi Pemberton; grandchildren Trista and husband Shawn, Deanna, Holly, Tim, Logan, Coty and Marissa; great grandchildren Brendan, Peyton, Annalise, Bailee, Noah, Brynlee, Olivia and Brody. She is also survived by her Boston Terrier, Tessie, whom she loved dearly.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 P.M. on Friday, September 16, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will follow at 4:00 P.M. at the Pine Hill Cemetery with Bro. Danny Fore and Bro. Tom Wilburn officiating.
