Phoebe Elsie Barton

Phoebe Elsie Barton, born on November 6, 1925, departed this life on March 28, 2024, in Lexington, Kentucky, living to be 98 years old.

She was a resident of Woodbine, Kentucky for over 75 years and a member of Woodbine Baptist Church for over 70 years. She and her husband Leonard were the owner operators of Barton's Greenhouses of Woodbine, KY.

Phoebe was preceded in death by her parents, Madison and Linda Tye Jones, husband, Leonard Barton, son Earnie Lynn Barton, seven sisters, Mae Mitchell, Edna Wynn, Ruth Head, Una Smith, Ina Sasser, Naomi Crabtree, and her twin Margaret Bryant, brother, Harris Jones, and by several nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Barton Hisel and husband Ken of Georgetown, KY, two granddaughters, Michelle Howard and husband Tim of Lexington, and Amy Young and her fiancé Darrell Godsey of London, KY, two great grandchildren, Katie Radtke of Louisville and Riley Radtke of Lexington, KY, and by a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Visitation will be on Wednesday April 3, 2024, from 11:30am until 1pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where her funeral service will be held at 1pm on Wednesday April 3rd.

Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery in Gray, Kentucky. Pall bearers will be Darrell Godsey, Katie Radtke, Riley Radtke, Nate Grote, Tim Jones, and Steve Fulnmer.
