Phyllis Gibson Faulkner departed this life on January 24th, 2024, at Hillcrest Nursing Home where she had been a longtime resident. After taking her last earthly breath, she was greeted by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at Heaven’s pearly gates. While this was a sad day for those of us who loved and cherished her, this was a day she looked forward to for many years. She is now reunited with her loving husband, her sweet great-granddaughter, and countless family and friends who went to Glory before her. We know her first day in Heaven was glorious and she now lives eternally waiting for the rest of us to arrive home when our times come.
Phyllis was a life-long resident of Corbin and a 1960 graduate of Corbin High School. She had been a member of West Corbin Baptist Church since September 1983. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother as well as a doting grandmother. She lived by faith and loved her family more than anything.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Jake Gibson and Lula Mae Roe Gibson; her husband, Dan “Boone” Faulkner; her sister, Glenna Gibson Coffey; and her great-granddaughter, Theodora Meadow Howard.
She is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Marie Faulkner Hampton (Earnie), Phyllis Renee Faulkner Philpot (Rodnie); a son, Danny Faulkner (Suzy); two sisters, Eula Gibson Simmons, Ivy Pat Gibson Moses(Mo); seven grandchildren, Kevin Faulkner, Jimmie Lee Hampton (Amy), Christina Faulkner Hill (Glen), Lindsay Brown Howard (Joshua), Danniele Philpot Melton (Brian), Veronica Cheyanne Philpot, Kendra Brooke Philpot; nine great-grandchildren, Kenny Hill, Makaela Faulkner, Autumn Hill, KJ “Bubby” Hill, Harlie Lawson, Autumn Lawson, RJ Philpot, Dakota Philpot, Julian “Jules” Howard; and a special niece, Teresa Coffey Warren.
