Ray Mitchell, 69, of Morristown, Tennessee and formerly of Woodbine, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at the Baptist Hospital East in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Born June 22, 1936 in Woodbine, he was the son of the late Austin Chester Mitchell and Vivian Lorretta Troutman Mitchell. He was a self-employed masonry contractor and was a member of Corn Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Troxell Mitchell; granddaughter, Angela Leforce; and infant sister Theresa Mitchell.
He is survived by three daughters, Vickie Mitchell, Sherry Massey (Jake), and Connie Bryant (Jerry), all of Corbin; three sons, David Mitchell (Vickie) of Jellico, Tennessee, Timmy Mitchell (Susan) of Lily, and Scotty Mitchell (Natalie) of Auburn, Indiana; three step-daughters, Debbie Britt (Conley) of Morristown, Tennessee, Jamie Carter and Linda Leforce, both of Woodbine; one sister, Zonda Crawford of Woodbine; 26 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Friday, May 5, 2006 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Tye officiating. Burial will be in the Wilton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Thursday, May 4, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
