Rebecca Lynn Haggard

Rebecca Lynn Haggard, known by family and friends as Becky, of London, KY, was born on September 21, 1961, and passed away peacefully on Friday, May 12, 2023, at St. Joseph London.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Glenna Mays Haggard; grandparents, Earl and Arie McNeil Mays; Tony and Clydia Engle Haggard; and her beloved dog, Tinker.

Rebecca is survived by her sons Brandon Lee Haggard (Amy Wells) of Corbin, KY; Timothy Craig Haggard (Erica) of Cookeville, TN; granddaughter Madison Haggard of Corbin, KY; step-grandson Parker Wells; special great-nephew Walker Lane Haggard, of London, KY; and partner Charles Hood of London, KY. Rebecca is also survived by her sisters: Regina Murray (Jim) of Louisville, KY; Rhonda Helton of London, KY; Melvia Karen Vaughn of London, KY; Lana Partin (Herb) of Corbin, KY; aunts: Truscilla Vinson of Georgetown, KY; Jenny Haggard of Silver Grove, KY; Florence Smith of Fairfield, OH; Joyce Mays of Plano, IL; Pat Mays of Lexington, KY; along with generations of nieces, nephews and cousins, and a host of friends including Ella Couch, MaryAnn Couch, Jo Grubb, and Danny Nantz.

Becky enjoyed playing cards and gossiping with her good friends, spending time with Madison and Walker and her adopted pup Precious and watching UK Basketball. She filled a room with laughter, was full of joy and light, and loved helping others. Becky was beloved by many, and her goofy personality and attitude will be missed dearly.

Visitation will be held from 12-2pm on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where her funeral service will follow at 2pm with Rev. Jim Murray officiating.

Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Corbin, KY, with Ethan Dishman, Landon Turner, Ronnie Lewis, Jared Kidwell, Kaleb Williams, Casey Kelly, Chris Curry, Jimmer Murray, and Parker Ross serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Simon Dishman.
