Rella Holt Stevens

Rella Holt Stevens went to her heavenly home November 24, 2015. Rella was a Christian and a member of South Park United Baptist Church where she held various positions including the church's first Secretary and a Sunday School teacher. She was employed by the Corbin Independent School System as a cook until her retirement. She had a beautiful singing voice and was a fantastic cook.
Rella was born September 10, 1925 in Keavy, KY to the late Pleas and Stella Holt, being the youngest of seven children.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Bo (J.B.) Stevens, her infant son James Edward Stevens, son Larry Wayne (L.W.) Stevens, granddaughter Michelle Stevens Lanham, sisters Thelma Johnson and Renia Watkins, and brothers Robert Holt, Raymond Holt, Ralph Holt, and Raleigh Holt.
She is survived by her son Lonnie Stevens and wife Mercedes of Rockhold, KY, daughter Carolyn Peace and husband Rodger Dean of Corbin, KY, and son Bobby Stevens and wife Trish of Corbin, KY: grandchildren: Toby Stevens and wife Tonda of Corbin, KY, Becky Edwards and husband Rodney of Gray, KY, Karen Springfield and husband Marty of Pelham, AL, Kelli Richey and husband Brian of Wilsonville, AL, Karri Dilgard and husband Michael of Pell City, AL, Melissa Pratt and husband Todd of Rockhold, KY, Lonnie Joe Stevens and wife Rachel of Rockhold, KY, Jesse Peace and wife Jenifer of Corbin, KY, Josie Tyree and husband Brandon of Corbin, KY, Elizabeth Stevens of Corbin, KY, and Joseph Roberts of Corbin, KY.
Rella also leaves great grandchildren: Cora Bo Stevens, Tye Stevens, Samuel Edwards, Joshua Edwards, Jeremiah Tip Edwards, Jackson Springfield, Steven Springfield, Sara Elizabeth Springfield, Austin Stevens, Kole Richey, Mason Richey, Kylie Dilgard, Kate Dilgard, Brandon Pratt and wife Whitney, Michael Pratt, Jacob Pratt, Madison Lanham, Maggie Lanham, Nathan Stevens, Courtney Stevens, Kasey Stevens, Kaylee Saylor, Isaac Saylor, Rachel Peace, Jackson Peace, Pacey Peace, and Layten Tyree; and great-great grandchildren: Lucas Pratt, Lynnlee Pratt, Lorelei Pratt, and Eli Pratt.
Rella was blessed with a large loving family including several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home on Saturday, November 28th at 1:00pm with Pastor Rodney Edwards and Pastor Steve Cole officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00pm until 9:00pm Friday, November 27th at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the McFarland Cemetery in west Corbin. Pallbearers will be grandsons Toby Stevens, Joe Stevens, Jesse Peace, Brandon Tyree, Todd Pratt, Brandon Pratt, Jacob Pratt, Nathan Stevens, Samuel Edwards, and Tye Stevens.
