Rexell Roosevelt 'Rex' Faulkner

February 4, 1933 — August 14, 2003

Rexell "Rex" Roosevelt Faulkner, age 70, of Corbin, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2003 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin.
He was born on February 4, 1933 in Whitley County, the son of the late Walter Parks and Maggie Nola Lewis Faulkner.
He was a retired Engineer from the CSX Railroad and a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church.
An Air Force Veteran, he served two tours during Korea and was present in Korea when the armistice was signed.
Rex is a member of the Hugh Harris Masonic Lodge #938 F&AM, a member of the Oleika Shrine and an active member in the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Austin, O'dell and H.B. Faulkner.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Bird Faulkner; one sister, Evelyn Brewer of Corbin;  one brother, Walter Faulkner Jr. and his wife Patty of Lexington;  a step-son, Sam Jackson and his wife Paula of Corbin; three step grandchildren, Elizabeth, Carley, and Aubrey Faulkner all of Corbin;  Numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends mourn his passing.
Funeral Services will be held at 1pm on Saturday, August 16, 2003 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, with the Rev. Utah Proffitt officiating. Interment will follow in the Corinth Cemetery, Corbin.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 15, 2003 from 5-9pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
The Hugh Harris Masonic Lodge #938 F&AM will conduct Masonic Rites at 7:30pm on Friday.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Hudson, Gary Smith, James "Pepper" Gaddis, Bennie Taylor, Scotty Moses, Kenny Irvin, O.C. Hill, and Don Reece. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.

Friday August 15, 2003 from 5-9pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home

Saturday August 16, 2003 at 1pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, with Rev. Utah Proffitt officiating
