Richard Eugene Brown

Richard E. Brown, 76, of Gray, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006 at Baptist Regional Medical Center.
Born October 6, 1930 in Lima, Ohio, he was the son of the late Mitchell and Nellie Woods Brown. He was a member of the Church of the First Born and was a U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Kevin Brown; three sisters, Shirley Roy, Betty Conner and Ethel Sroufe; and brother Harold Brown.
He is survived by his wife Joann Brown; three sons, David Brown, Jeff Brown and Greg Brown; daughter, Christina Richardson; brother, Don Brown; step-children, Steve Rains, James Mitchell Rains, Lisa Burch, Michelle McDonald, Adam Rains and Samuel Rains; 24 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Saturday, Oct. 28, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Pastor Jackie Rains officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Friday at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion, Fonzie A. Wilder Post 88.
