Rita Ann (Barton) Baynard, 58, of Corbin, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center.
Born in Whitley County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Barton and Pearl Elliott Morrison. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in the death by her brother, Arliss Barton and sisters, Kathleen "Tootsie" and Martha Leforce.
She is survived by her son, James Baynard and wife Tosha of Rockholds; daughter, Christy Smith and special friend Chris Sizemore; seven grandchildren, Christopher Baynard Chamberlin, Bailey Baynard, Conner Baynard, Lacey Baynard, Chadlin Barton, Isaiah Barton, and Braden Barton; special friend, George Arrington; special cousin, Jewell Philpot; sister, Dorothy Lawson of Woodbine; six brothers, Rev. A.J. Barton and wife Barbara of Williamsburg, Clayton Barton and wife Wanda of Tazewell, Tennessee, Sammy, Emmey, Donald and Tim Barton, all of Indiana; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends who mourn her passing.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm Wednesday, October 14, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Ricketts and Rev. A.J. Barton officiating. Burial will follow in the McFarland Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Tuesday at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the funeral home to help with the cost of the funeral.
