Robert H. Meeks

Robert H. Meeks, age 88, of Corbin passed away Friday morning, July 4, 2014 at The Heritage in Corbin.
A native of Dixon, Illinois, Bob was the son of the late Bert and Mary Hyde Meeks. His wife of 64 years, Loree Jerrells Meeks, preceded him in death as well as a sister Jean McNabb.
Bob and his family moved to Corbin from Dixon in 1962 with the National Standard Co. where he worked as an account representative. He was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church - now Grace on the Hill UMC.
He served in the Army Air Force during World War II.
Survivors include his children: Kimberly Meeks Weathers and husband Michael of Florida and Kevin R. Meeks and wife Brenda of Corbin; two grandchildren: Kristen Patterson and husband Justin and Stephanie DeFazio and husband Steve; a great grandson, Kameron Robert Meeks; and a sister, Mary Ann Nimmo.
Visitation will begin at 1:00pm Tuesday at Grace on the Hill UMC. The funeral will follow at 3:00pm with Rev. Tim Thompson and Rev. Weyman McGuire officiating.
Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Post 88 Honor Guard.
