Robert Lee Smith

Robert L. Smith, age 77, of Gray, passed away on Wednesday Sept. 5, 2018 at his home.
He was born in Harlan County, KY a son to the late Luther and Bessie Smith.  A member of New Vision Pentecostal Church, he proudly retired on August 8, 1996 from the Knox County School System after working 22years as a custodian and 26years as a bus driver for Lynn Camp High School.  Robert enjoyed gardening, walking, playing the guitar, going to church, and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his Parents, He was preceded in death by his Wife, Mary Etta Smith who he married on June 25, 1963, brothers, Clifford Smith, Earl Smith, and Troy Troutman, and sisters, Geraldine Sasser and Geneva Setser.
Robert is survived by his Children, Samuel Lee Smith (Tina); Clifford Dewayne Smith (Stacey); and Sharon Nicole Smith all of Corbin; Ten Grandchildren and Eleven Great Grandchildren.
Funeral service for Robert Smith will be held at 3pm on Sunday September 9, 2018 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the Brafford Cemetery.  Pall bearers will be Trent Warren, Matthew Walters, Sam Smith, Justin Smith, Lance Smith, Cody Smith, Clifford Smith, and Rodney Warren.
Visitation will be on Saturday from 6-9pm and on Sunday from 1-3pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where messages may be written to the family at vankirkgrisellfuneralhome.com
