Rondal Duiane Robinson

Rondal Duiane Robinson, age 72, of Corbin, KY, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.

Born in Corbin, he was the son of the late Howard M. Robinson and Mattie Belle Powell Robinson. Rondal was a steelworker for many years, his dedication shining through his work as steadfast as the material he worked with. His Baptist faith was a constant in his life, grounding him and guiding him throughout life.

Rondal's life was filled with the simple pleasures of good food accompanied by good company. His laughter was a common sound in the family gatherings he so cherished. An avid TV watcher, Rondal held a special place in his heart for old shows, their familiar themes echoing his wisdom and appreciation for the past. What truly defined Rondal was his love for people. His family, his friends, and even casual acquaintances felt the warmth of his loving personality. He treasured conversations, deep or light-hearted, and valued the unique perspective every individual brought to the table.

In addition to his parents, Howard and Mattie Belle, he was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Robinson; special uncle and aunt, Ned and Garneeda Roaden; and brother-in-law, Dillard Valentine.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Edmonds Robinson; daughter, Becky Robinson Holder; son, Rondal Robinson, Jr.; daughter, Jennifer Portwood Jackson; sister, Jerrie Valentine; grandchildren, Frank Holder and Hayley Holder; great-grandchildren, Mark and Maisie; and his loyal cat buddy, Pogo.

Visitation will be held from 12-1 pm on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where his funeral service will follow at 1 pm on Saturday with Rev. Greg McClain officiating.

Burial will follow at Corinth Cemetery in Corbin, KY.
