Rondel Edward Smith Sr.

Rondel E. Smith Sr., age 79, of Lily, KY passed away on Tuesday March 9, 2021 at Laurel Heights in London, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marlin Smith and Estella McHargue Smith; and by his sisters, Florence Hinkle and Wanda Waidley. Rondel is survived by his loving wife of 58 1/2 years, Freddie Sue Bolton Smith; children, Rondel E. Smith Jr. and wife Linda, Roy E. Smith and wife Sheri all of Lily; and Elizabeth A. Wilhoit and husband Doug of London; grandchildren, Whitney Smith, Jonathan Smith, Rachel Robinson, Michael Robinson, MaKenna Wilhoit, Trinity Douglas, and Jacob Douglas. Visitation will be from 12noon until 2pm on Thursday March 11, 2021 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where his funeral service will be at 2pm. Burial will follow in the McHargue Cemetery in Laurel County. Those attending are required to wear a mask and to social distance. Masks will be provided to anyone who forgets; however, no one will be allowed inside without a mask.
