Ronnie W Morgan

August 22, 1940 — April 1, 2017

Ronnie W. Morgan, 76, of Corbin, Kentucky went to be with the Lord on April Fool’s Day, 2017, while in his home surrounded by family. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. (family) and 5:30 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, for all friends at Faith Baptist Church (135 Hwy 1223, Corbin, KY 40701) where he was a chartered member.
Funeral services will also be held at Faith Baptist Church, Pastor Bennie Bush presiding, on April 6, at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Yates Cemetery near Laurel Lake. Funeral arrangements will be provided by Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
Ronnie was self-employed for the majority of his life as a Master plumber, carpenter, and electrician and served much of southeastern Kentucky. He was a relentless worker that was always ‶hard at it″ until his heart attack in April 2011. Things were a little different beyond 2011, but he was still the same loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all who knew him. He loved telling jokes and he was feverishly passionate about being in the woods (chasing deer of course), fishing into the night (bass were his favorite), and watching UK basketball games (he was always right about Ulis), but none of these things were nearly as important to him as being surrounded by his family (especially on game day).
Ronnie was born on August 22, 1940 in the Bee Creek area of Whitley County to Erman & Laura (Sulfridge) Morgan. On July 4, 1961, Ronnie married his longtime sweetheart Bette J. Morgan in Jellico, TN in front of only Bette’s mother, Ada Pace (Skidmore).
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Bette J. Morgan; three daughters, Lisa O’Hara of Corbin, Charlotte Felts of Corbin, and Ronda Rogers of Corbin; one son, David Morgan of Corbin; six grandchildren, Chad (Cherlyn) Rutherford, Tyler (Rita) Morgan, Tony (Brandi) Felts, Cody O’Hara, Katelyn O’Hara, and Ryan Felts; as well as five great grandchildren, Jacob, Gavin, Morgan, Aria, and ShelbiBlair.
Ronnie is survived by the following siblings; Jesse (Ester) Morgan, Retha Osborne, Ralph (Linda) Morgan, Jerry Morgan, Geraldine Morgan, and brother-in-law Arnold Marcee.
Ronnie is preceded in death by his mother and father and a sister, Letha Marcee.
Pap, you withstood more than most in this life and God will certainly enjoy having you around.
P.S. We know you all too well and we know to be expecting you to jump out from behind those Pearly Gates when we get there.
