Rosie Davis

Rosie Davis, 80, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2010, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
Rosie was born on January 28, 1930, in Harlan County, Kentucky, to the late Milton and America Gambell Saylor.
On February 6, 1946, Rosie was married to her late husband Billie V. Davis.
Billie was born on April 15, 1926, in Harlan County and passed away on October 2, 1999. He was retired from the Kentucky State Transportation Department and worked at the Corbin Senior Citizens. Prior to becoming ill and passing away, Billie was honored by the governor for his participation in various charities and many walkathons.
Billie was preceded in death by his parents, Laura and Roy Davis; brother, Lennis Davis; and sisters, Laretta Trent, Barbara Smith and Iva Jean Hensley.
He is survived by one brother Tommy Davis; and by various nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Billie Davis and her parents, Rosie was preceded in death by her brother Buddy Saylor.
Rosie is survived by four children: Sandra Sue Schrader and husband William, Stephen Ray Davis and partner John Lips, Wilma Jean Davis , and Billie Dean Brown and husband Shawn; sister, Roberta Garlic and husband Kelsie; brother, Anthony Saylor and wife Hazel; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, all who mourn her passing.
Graveside services for Rosie Davis were held on Monday, April 19, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Worley Cemetery on Fifth Street Road in Corbin.
The family received friends from 1:00-2:00 pm on Monday, April 19, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home , 607 Master Street, Corbin, KY.
