Rosie M. Owens, 87, of Gray, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2004 at Baptist Regional Medical Center.
Born October 8, 1917 in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late John Collins and Mattie Patterson Collins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Owens; 3 sons, Calvin, Tommy & Edward Owens; daughter Jorene Gregory; sister Lizzie Collins; and four grandchildren, Carl Ridener III, Billie Milwee, Ronnie Gregory and Donna Kay Owens.
She is survived by 5 daughters:  Faye Owens of Detroit, Michigan, Margo Poff & husband Don of Corbin, Nancy Hendricks & husband Mike of Corbin, Marty Carter & husband Berry of Barbourville, and Judy Black & husband Steve of Gray; 3 sons:  Henry Owens of Woodbine, Leland Owens & wife Nancy of Gray, and Kenneth Owens & wife Juanita of Corbin; 3 sisters: Nancy Cox of Manchester, Kathlene Murray of Morristown, Tennesse, and Wilma Minton of London. Also surviving are 28 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Tye and Rev. Steve Sutton officiating. Burial will be in the Hart Cemetery at South Corbin.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 pm Friday at the funeral home.
