Roy Gene Burke

Roy Gene Burke, age 76, of Corbin passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Baptist Health Corbin.
Born in Corbin, he was the son of the late Otis H. Burke and Bertha Hensley Burke. On June 2, 1969, he married his beloved wife, Fayetta Burke. Roy spent many years working for Western Auto, where he filled many roles. He is remembered as a hard worker who was devoted to providing for his family. In his spare time, he loved hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Burke, and brother-in-laws, Wendell Peace and Jerry Willoughby.
Roy is survived by his wife, Fayetta Burke; children, Michael Burke (Tracey), Brian Burke, Stacey Burke (Jerry Helton), and Mark Burke (Dale Williams); sisters, Oneda Peace, and Barb Sue Willoughby; brothers, Jerry Burke, and Harold Burke; 18 grandchildren, Faith Hill (Andrew), Michael Burke, Jr. (Naomi Hansford), Jacob Burke, Timothy Burke, Jacey Burke, Heydn Burke, Joseph Burke, Jr., Christopher Burke, Sam Burke, Amber Helton (Jimmy Hensley), Angel Helton (Will Jones), Ashely Helton, Alley Helton, and Brandon Riley (Kaylee Carter); 2 great grandchildren, Rosalie Hill and Greyson Hill; and by numerous family members and friends who mourn his passing. Visitation will be from 12-2pm on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where his funeral service will be held at 2pm on Saturday with Rev. Jim Cook officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations to assist with final expenses. Donations can be made by calling the funeral home, in person at the funeral home, or online by selecting the red "Donate Now" icon below. The Burke family will receive a list of those that donate.
