Roy R. Hall, age 85, of Corbin, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012, at the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin.
Mr. Hall was born July 22, 1927, in Rome, Georgia, to Clara Mae Robinson Hall and Roy Hall, Sr. Mr. Hall was a member of the Eastside Tabernacle Church of God. He was a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War and was a Kentucky Colonel. He had retired after 34 years at Chrysler Corporation in Michigan.
Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his first wife, Colleen Spurlock Hall; his parents; one brother, Charles Hall, Sr.; a nephew, Charles Hall, Jr.; a step-son, James Hall; a step-daughter, Benita Decker; one step-granddaughter and two step-great grandchildren.
Mr. Hall is survived by his wife, Sylvia E. Hall of Corbin; step-children, Joanna Shepherd and husband Harry of Corbin; Norma Collins (Jim Collins - deceased) of Corbin; step-son-in-law Ron Decker of Corbin; Roger Hall and wife Lisa of Corbin; Michael Hall and companion Susan Ball of Harlan; Vicki Roland and husband Danny of Owenton; Helen King and husband Robert of Corbin; Pamela Babb and husband Roger of Charlotte, NC; Jane Seale and husband Fred of Corbin; Melanie Hall of Corbin; Paula Webb and husband Greg of Corbin; 15 step-grandchildren and 24 step-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm Thursday, Aug. 30, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home in Corbin. Funeral services will be at 7:00 pm Thursday evening with Rev. Randall Lee, Rev. Troy Boggs, and Rev. Robert King officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 am Friday, August 31, at the Beatty Cemetery in Gray.
