Roy Vester 'Pete' Howser

Roy Vester "Pete" Howser Jr., passed away at home on December 4, 2013, living 62 years, two months, and ten days of age, after a hard and courageous fight with cancer. When he passed, he was surrounded by his wife, daughter, son-in-law, and many friends.
Roy was born in Bell County, Kentucky, on September 24, 1951, to the late Roy Howser Sr., and Audrey Lee Taylor Howser. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Son, Donny Allen Howser and Sister, Rose Jean Howser Rognoski.
He was a member of the West Knox Volunteer Fire Dept, having joined in the early 1980's and he remained a faithful member until the day he died. Roy accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into his life after many years of believing on August 8th of this year.
Roy leaves behind his loving Wife, Dinia Perry Howser; Daughter, Rose Ann Mosley(Derek Reams); Grandsons: Dakota Scott (Jayla), Brandon Scott, Jimmy Travis Mosley, and Hunter Adams; one Great Grandson, Jace Scott, all of Gray; He also leaves behind Lee Carter (Rebecca) who he helped raise as a son; Brother, Lester Howser of Gray; Sister, Carolyn Deloris Bowser (Ron Owens) of Elkhart, IN; three Sisters-in-laws: Bonnie Peters, Betty Catron, and Flonnie Ledbetter; three Brothers-in-law: Robert Perry (Joann), Kenneth Perry (Dorothy), and Raymond Rognoski; and by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who mourn his passing.
Funeral service for Roy "Pete" Howser will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Hazel Fork Holiness Church with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton officiating.
Burial will be in the Howser Family Cemetery in Gray with full honors by the West Knox Volunteer Fire Department who will also serve as pall bearers.
Visitation will be on Friday, Dec. 6, from 6-9pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
