Ruby Dixon Rose

Ruby Dixon Rose, 70, of Corbin, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2014 in Corbin.
Born in Knox County, she was the daughter of the late Damon and Ella Smith Dixon. She was Baptist by faith and was baptized at Poplar Grove Baptist Church many years ago.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Orville "Root" Rose; brothers, Wayne Dixon and Kenneth Dixon; and sister, Jewell Tuggle.
Ruby is survived by her daughter, Lisa Rose; sons: Timothy Rose and wife Sherri, and Shannon Rose and wife Kim; grandchildren: Alicia Carr and husband Ben, Justin Rose, Andrea Woolum, Jared Rose, Christopher Woolum, and Preston Rose; great-grandchildren: Christian Kerr, Hayden Rose, Keagan Jones, Peyton Rose, Kensley Jones, and Jaxen Carr; sisters: Ruth Johnson, and Earlene Engle and husband Harvey; sisters-in-law: Faye Rose and Bonnie Dixon; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends, including special friends Margaret Dickerson and Glenda Lickliter.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 6, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Denny Dixon, Terry Dixon, Randy Dixon, Starlin Dixon, Doug Black, and Justin Rose. Grandsons will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, Aug. 5, at the funeral home.
