Ruby Irene Hall

Ruby Irene Hall, age 87, was called home on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Oak Tree Hospital in Corbin.
She was born on May 8, 1926, a daughter of William "Buggy Top" Shelton and Edith Tuttle Shelton. She was united in marriage to Bobby Marion Hall and to this union was born one Son, Harold William Hall.
Ruby was beloved by the community as a wonderful cook. She began cooking at her family's restaurant, The Ranch House Restaurant. After its closing, she cooked for both Cracker Barrel and the Holiday Inn in Corbin before she cooked for and retired from the Felts School in Laurel County. Ruby graduated from the former Lily High School where she was a cheerleader. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and a faithful and loving wife. Beyond her passion for cooking she loved horse racing. Her hat's lit up the Kentucky Derby. She loved her church family and was a committed Christian.
Ruby was preceded in death by her Parents, Bill and Edith Shelton; her Husband, Bobby Marion Hall; Sisters, June Shelton Goodin and Billie Shelton; and by a beloved Cousins, Sissy Ledington and Stella Anderson.
She is survived by her Son, Harold Hall and wife Sherry; two Grandsons, Michael "Rufus" Hall and Austin "Bubba" Hall all of Corbin; two much beloved Sisters-in-law, Barbara Johnson and husband Mack of Hamilton, OH, and Betty Burgan and husband Clyde of Monroe, OH; three Cousins, Juanita Shelton, Joe Ledington of Corbin, and Mildred Hamblen of Big Sky, Montana; as well as, a multitude of friends who loved her and will mourn her passing.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 13, 2013, from 12noon until the time of her funeral service at 2:00pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Bargo officiating.
Burial will follow in the Felts Chapel Cemetery in Corbin. Pall bearers will be Michael and Austin Hall, Lawrence Rose, Randy and Joe Ledington, Rusty Hamblen, Bobby Taylor, and Jamie Miller.
