Ruth E Chancellor

Ruth E. Chancellor, 71, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019, at her home in London.  Born in Somerset, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late John and  Ella Tucker Richards. She was also preceded in death by her brother Joey Richards, and son James Wesley Sammons.
Ruth loved her family very much. She loved listening to gospel music, watching wrestling, and playing bingo from time to time. Her faith was strong. She knew Christ as her savior and knew she would be going home. She was a light for others, always with a smile and kind word. She will truly be missed by all.
She is survived by her fiance John Richards; five sisters: Sis Scott, Betty Roy, Marcie Richards, Linda Hall and Tonya Gilmore; brother Bobby Richards; two sons: Billy (Maggie) Sammons and Scottie (Janie) Sammons; six daughters: Debbie (William) Sammons, Lillian (Troy) Mock, Ruthie Ellison, Tammy (Jerry) Honeycutt, Crystal Brock and Christy Nichols; and by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 23, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Pastor Rodney Edwards and Pastor Roy Eversole officiating. Burial will be in Horse Creek Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be John Richards, Donavan Cheek, Scottie Sammons, Jerry Honeycutt, Little Jerry Honeycutt, and Brandon Boley. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Richards, Junior Scott, Gene Scott, and Jerry Roy.
