Ruth Marie Balenger

Ruth Marie Balenger, age 66, of Corbin, KY, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022, at her home.

She was born in Columbus, MS, a daughter of the late J.C. Ballenger and Mamie Jordan Balenger.  Ruth was a member of Youngs Creek Baptist Church and also attended Rev. Earl Tye's church at the flea market.  She loved bingo, cooking, camping, fishing, Facebook games, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Joann Balenger, brother, Larry Dobbins, and sister, Joyceann Balenger.

Ruth is survived by her spouse, Alfred Smith, daughters, Christina and John Witt Jr. and their children, John Witt Jr. II, Audra Witt, and Brandon Witt, Amy and Jason Paul, and their children, Keelie Jo Mills, Eathan Mills, and Jaxtin Paul, April and Gary Sprinkles, and their children, Malachi Smith, Marissa Smith, and Michaela Smith, and Elizabeth and Jimi Fritz, and their children, Emily Fritz, Joseph Fritz, and Jimi Fritz Jr., brother, Bobby Ray Balenger, and three great grandchildren, John Witt Jr. III, Sofia Witt, and Sterling Witt.

Visitation will be from 6-9pm on Thursday September 8, 2022, and on Friday September 9th from 1pm until the time of her funeral service at 2pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, with Bro. Bob Goodin, Bro. Sam Meadors, and Bro. Earl Tye officiating.

Burial will follow in the Hart Cemetery, Moore Hill in Corbin, KY.
