Ruth Mason Wagers departed this earthly life for her heavenly one on Tuesday, November 26, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe C. Mason and Effie Mason. She was also preceded by her brother, Daniel; sisters, Faye and Marie; niece, Janice Blankenship; nephew, Jamie Meadors; and grandchildren, Thomas Lee Gibson IlI and Cody Lee Gibson.
Ruth is survived by a large family including her son, Chris Wagers; daughter, Monica Marcus; grandson, Charlie Marcus (Audrey); and great-granddaughter, Adalynn Marcus. She is also survived by her sisters, Georgia Bell (Doug), Lucille Taylor, JoAnn Alsip, and Emma Mason; nieces, Billie Jo Siler, Tammy Walters, Debbie Inman, Michelle Duarte, Angie Heath, Cindy Hunter, Kim Hess, and Shanda Price; nephews, Daniel Walters, Mike Taylor, Tim Mason, Tyler Meadors, and Tony Mason; great-niece, Ashley Earls and her children Jordan, Brooklyn, Jacob, and Olivia.
Ruth was always a hard worker in everything she did. She loved her family, friends, and church family with all of her heart. She was a very active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Corbin. She was also the custodian at the church along with her sister, Lucille Taylor. She was a retired cook from Corbin Independent Schools. She always liked to give and receive hugs and had a special love for children. She enjoyed working with children and preparing meals for them at school and church.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 pm on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
Her funeral service will begin at 1 pm on Monday, December 2, 2024, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, with Rev. Kevin Roach officiating.
Burial will follow in Smith Cemetery in Faber, KY.
