Sheron Kay Gilbert, of Corbin, Kentucky, born in Verda, Kentucky, passed away on January 8, 2025, at Baptist Health in Corbin, Kentucky.
Sheron was a warm-hearted, captivating woman who had the rare ability to make everyone feel special and loved. A dedicated homemaker, Sheron enjoyed the simple things in life but nothing brought her more joy than the time spent with her family. Her home was a haven of love and laughter, where friends and family were always welcome. Sheron had a spark of life that was contagious, and her laughter was a melody that will echo in our hearts forever. She found joy in playing Bingo and watching game shows, but her greatest pride and happiness were found in her family.
Sheron is survived by her children; Elizabeth Gilbert, Debbie Cox, Jimmy Gilbert Jr., Melissa Gilbert, and Bobby Gilbert all of Corbin; grandchildren, Brittany Cox, Brandon Cox, Derek Gilbert, Jessica Gilbert, Brooklyn McCloud, and Jeffrey Baise III; great-grandchildren, Rileigh Hart, Hudson Hinkle, and Amira Cox.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmy Gilbert, and her parents, Elmer and Magline Hoover; daughter, Sandy Hoover; and sister, Shirley Butt. As we remember Sheron, we celebrate a life lived with love, laughter, and immeasurable kindness. Her legacy of love will continue to live on in the hearts of all those she touched.
Visitation will be held from 12 - 2 pm on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, 607 Master Street in Corbin. Her funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Greg McClain officiating.
Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery in Corbin, Kentucky.
