Sidney E. Mitchell

Sidney E. Mitchell, age 72, of Corbin, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2006 at the Oak Tree Hospital in Corbin.
He was born on February 27, 1934 in Whitley County, the son of the Late Frank Mitchell and Nannie Martin Mitchell. He was longtime driver for the City of Corbin sanitation department and a Baptist by Faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Wife, JoAnn Wilson Mitchell in 2004; Brother, Charlie Mitchell, and Two Sisters, Loretta Fox and Elizabeth Noe; and Brother-in-law Kenneth Wilson.
He is survived by his Son, Eugene Mitchell; Two Daughters, Phyllis Carmichael and Marsha Rule; Three Grandsons, Jeremy Mitchell and wife Jessica, Larry Mitchell and wife Kathy, and Jonah Alexander Mitchell; Two Great-Grandchildren, Jeremy James Mitchell and Bryce Alexander Mitchell; Mother-in-law, Mary McKnight; Three Brothers-in-law, Howard Wilson, Rev. Glenn Wilson and wife Doris, and Lloyd Charles Wilson.
Funeral service will be on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at 2pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton and Rev. Glenn Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Lily.
Visitation will be from 6-9pm on Monday at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
