Sophie H. Davis was born in Reading, Pennsylvania on September 10, 1920. She passed away Sunday, December 19, 2004 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Sophie was preceded in death by her husband, Kelly L. Davis, May 22, 1984. She is survived by two sons, Robert L. Davis and wife Becky of Albuquerque and Tom K. Davis and wife Mary Ann of South Bend, Indiana; one brother, Henry Gluszek and wife Josephine of Knoxville, Tennessee; one sister, Jennie Serrenho of Cumberland, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Scott, Michael, Diana, John, and Lucille; 14 great-grandchildren, Lynn, Nicole, Chris, Matthew, Taylor, Rhys, Kenton, Gina, Ashley, Monet, Paul, Lawrence, Zachary, Kevin, Justin, and Darrien; one great-great-grandson, Mikie; other family members and friends who loved her and will miss her.
A rosary will be recited at St. Therese Little Flower Parish in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004 at 7:00 pm, with a viewing beginning at 6:00pm.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home in Corbin, Kentucky. The funeral mass will be celebrated at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 11:00 am Tuesday, Dec. 28 with burial to follow in the Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Corbin.
