Stella Marie Gray, 69, of Corbin, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at the University of Tennessee Hospital in Knoxville.
Born in Hamilton, Ohio, Stella was the daughter of the late James F. McVey and Emma Jean Little McVey. She had been employed as a nurse's aide at Sunny Breeze Nursing Home, and was a member of the Liberty Tabernacle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Fagely and Betty Metzeler; son, James F. Cope; and granddaughter, Katherine Nichole Turnbull.
She is survived by her husband, Charles "C.T." Gray of Corbin; sons, George W. Cope, Gilbert W. Cope, and Earl J. Hunley Jr. and wife Joyce, all of Ohio; daughters, Margaret M. Hunley of London, KY, and Donna L. Hunley of Ohio; step-son, Charles D. Gray and wife Priscilla of Corbin and Howard L. Gray and wife Kimberly, all of Corbin; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family and friends, all who mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Sunday, April 5, 2009, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Lester Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Saturday at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
