Terrence R. 'Terry' Dirr

Terrence R. "Terry" Dirr, 71, of Corbin, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018 at home.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the son of the late Robert and Elsie Dirr. He was also preceded in death by his wife Thelma Lee Stevens Dirr, son Wendell E. Patterson, granddaughter Terri Nicole Carter, and  grandsons Cody Ryan Felts and Steve Allen Martin.
Terry was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church; and had retired from Corbin Housing Authority with 18 years of service. Terry was a funny man and a story teller with a great sense of humor that would brighten anyone's day. He had a passion for gardening and music, especially the oldies. He was a loving care giver and husband to his wife of 32 years, and a wonderful and loving Dad and "Papaw."
Terry is survived by his children: Melinda Miller (Norman), Denise Martin (Bo), Jennifer Felts (Chuck), and Sherrie Eversole (Dennis); grandchildren: Josh, David, Justin, Brittany, Jordan, Austin, Kelsi, Dalton, Felicia, and Nolan; great-grandchildren: Jayden, Luna, Cameron, and Sophia; and siblings: Michael Dirr (Betty), Raymond Dirr (Pamela), Barbara Lynch (David), Deborah Schappacher (Robert), Karen Dirr, Donald Dirr (Melissa), and Dianna Helbich ( Donald), all who mourn his passing.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 am Saturday, December 1, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Michael Weglicki as officiant.
Burial will follow in the Corinth Cemetery with Steve Martin, Jordan Martin, Joshua Carter, Dave Carter, Dennis Eversole, and Dalton Eversole serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Friday at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, with rosary being said at 8:00 pm.
