Thelma Jean Vanover, 66, of Corbin, passed away on Monday, April 26, 2010, at the Christian Health Center.
Born in Laurel County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mary Jones Storms. She had worked as a saleswoman at the B & H Shoe Store, and was a member of the Living Waters Pentecostal Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Storms, and sister, Cordy Holt.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest Vanover; three children, Carl Vanover and wife Sherry of Corbin, Ernie Vanover and wife Ann of London, and Jason Vanover and wife Shonda of Corbin; four grandchildren, Tiffany Jones, Christina Hurst, Shelby Vanover, and Amanda Bingham; one great-grandson, Ian Jones; two brothers, Henry Storms and Ed Storms; and two sisters, Ima Lee Helton and Vernilla Jackson, all who mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, April 29, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Humfleet and Rev. William Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Wednesday, April 28, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, 607 Master Street, Corbin, KY.
