Thomas David Ivey

The Honorable, Thomas David Ivey, age 77, of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at his home in Corbin, KY.

Born in Newnan, Georgia, Thomas the son of the late Thomas Lewis Ivey and Elizabeth Nichols Ivey. He was a retired sheriff's deputy with the Bell County Sheriff's Office. Thomas was a US Army Vietnam veteran and was a member of Brays Chapel Church of God.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Clarence L. Ivey, and by his sisters, Mable Etta Gore and Jane Enkausin.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Martha L. Heath Ivey, sons, Jeffery Allen Simpson Ivey (Jeannie) of Georgia and Frank Davis of Kite, GA, daughters, Lorean Nicole Ivey Wellman (Nathan), of Brenham, TX, and Marcie Davis of Lily, Kentucky, special grandson, Christopher Jacob Smith, and grandchildren, Jocelyn Ivey, Joshua Ivey, Zoe Wellman, Brooklyn Paige Wellman, and Heather Lynn Davis.

Visitation for Thomas Ivey will be from 6-8pm on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where his funeral service will be held at 8pm on Wednesday, December 27th, with Rev. Travis Baker officiating, and with military honors by Keavy DAV Chapter 158.

Graveside service will be held at the Pitts Cemetery in Newnan, Georgia on Thursday December 28, 2023.
