Tommie "Cerial" Dugger, 93, of Corbin, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2008, at the Corbin Nursing Home.
Born in Siler, Kentucky, he was the son of the late J. Fred Dugger and Polly Sears Dugger. He had worked in the coal mines for 40 years in Harlan County and was Baptist by faith. He enjoyed gardening, spending time with his grandchildren, and the companionship of his dogs.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Burch Dugger; and his second wife, Hattie Dugger.
He is survived by his daughter, Evelyn Loretta Rebenstorff of Corbin; his sister, Inez Watts of Owensboro; three grandchildren, Lisa Rudy, Linda Nelson, and Jan Swinehart, all of Harrisburg, PA; three great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren, all who mourn his passing.
Graveside services will be held at 11 am Wednesday, July 23, at the Resthaven Cemetery in Loyall, Kentucky with burial to follow.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday, July 22, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home in Corbin.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Knox-Whitley Animal Shelter.
