Vera Anna Lee Cupp Allen

Vera Anna Lee Cupp Allen, age 90, of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at the Christian Health Care Center in Corbin.

She was born in Louellen, Kentucky, a daughter of the late William Porter Cupp and Annie May Ray Cupp.  Vera was a member of the Garrett First Baptist Church in Garrett, Kentucky and was a retired file clerk from the Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, KY.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Allen; and by her siblings, Ena Cupp, Lorene Reaves, William Wheeler Cupp, Frank Cupp, and George Robert Cupp.

Vera is survived by her sons, James Litton Allen Jr. and wife Florence of Melbourne, FL, and Joseph M. Allen and wife Melinda of Corbin; sister, Delphia Branim of Leesburg, VA; grandchildren, Nicholas Allen (Whitney), Cory Allen, and Kevin Allen; great-grandson, Liam Allen, and by several nieces and nephews including special nephew, Denham Reaves and special niece, Karen Peak.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Friday, August 2, 2024, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.  Her funeral service will be at 11 am on Saturday, August 3rd at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.   Graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday at the Resthaven Cemetery, 3000 St. Hwy. 840, Baxter, KY.
