Verla C. Martin

Verla C. Martin, 84, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and formerly of Corbin, passed away on Monday, Sept. 25, 2006 at her residence in Tennessee.
Born October 3, 1921 in Harlan, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Hobert and Sarah McDaniel Harber. She was a retired production worker for G.E. in Louisville and was a member of the West Corbin Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Claude Hobert Martin on May 20, 2006 and her son Bobby Dean Martin in 2005.
She is survived by her daughter Donna Marie Thompson and husband Keith; daughter-in-law Jackie Martin; grandchildren Billy Joe Martin and wife Vicki, John Claude Martin and wife Angel, Melissa Lynne Furches, Sara Beth Brutscher and husband Kristopher; sisters-in-law Norma Martin Pennington and husband Charles and Jewell Martin; and brother-in-law Henry M. Martin and wife June. She is also survived by numerous beloved nieces, nephews, family and friends who mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006 at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton officiating. Burial will be in the Bingham Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
