Viola Sturgill Dugger, age 89, died Friday, June 13, 2008 in Alabama.
She was born on December 19, 1918 in Corbin, Kentucky, where she lived most of her life. At the time of her death she was living in Hoover, AL with her daugther.
She enjoyed flowers, real estate, and co-owning and operating Dugger's Wrecking Yard and Garage on London Highway for over 40 years.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Corbin and was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Virgil Levi Dugger; parents, Richard and Icy Sturgill and by two infant sons, Clarence and Arthur.
Cherished memories live in the hearts of her four daughters, Carol Callen and husband Bob of Corbin; Sue Gieszl and husband Joe of Miamisburg, OH, Gaye Brennan of Garden City, Mich, and Kimberly Dickey and husband Freddie of Hoover, AL; Eight grandchildren, Frank Gieszl and wife Sheryl of Dayton, OH, Andrea Croley Coffin of Garden City, MI, Todd Gieszl and wife Stacy of Miamisburg, OH, Karen Stevens Springfield and husband Marty of Pelham, AL, Rob Brennan and wife Lindsay of Dearborn, MI, Kelli Stevens Richey and husband Brian of Hoover, AL, Sean Brennan and wife Colleen of Garden City, MI, and Karri Stevens of Ft. Worth, TX; a step-granddaughter, Amy Nance and husband Rob of Pelham, AL; and14 Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Sunday, June 15, 2008, from 12noon until 2pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home followed by a Graveside service at 2:30pm at Cumberland Memorial Gardens on London Highway (adjacent to her home).
Donations are suggested in her memory for Alzheimer's Research or to First Baptist Church of Corbin.
