Vivian Elizabeth Taylor, age 89, of Corbin, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2013, at Laurel Heights Home for the Elderly.
Born in Whitley County, she was the daughter of the late Ernie G. Hickey and Buna Brooks Hickey. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and baking. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Corbin, and was a former member and pianist of the Waynesville Baptist Church in Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Austin Hickey and Ralph Hickey.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Elza C. Taylor; two daughters: Elaine Rickett and husband Jerry of Corbin, and Pam Lovelace and husband Mike of LaGrange; four grandchildren: Ryan Lovelace and Brendan Lovelace, both of LaGrange, Shannon Rickett of Corbin and Dr. Todd Rickett and wife Ann Marie of Indianapolis, Indiana; two sisters: Iva L. Ward and husband James and Helen Bradley and husband Dewey, all of Corbin; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 29, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Dr. Terrell Bradley and Shannon Rickett officiating. Burial will be in the Sutton-Pemberton Cemetery in Whitley County.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, August 28, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Laurel Heights Home for the Elderly.
