Vollie Parsons

Vollie Parsons, 92, of Corbin, passed away at Oak Tree Hospital on Wednesday, May 2, 2007.
Born in Wise, Virginia, he was the son of the late Willard Edward and Sarah Elizabeth Smith Parsons. He had worked as a coal miner and as a foundry worker for Chrysler Corp.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Parsons; and his son, Paul Parsons.
He is survived by his daughters, Linda Lou Bain of Corbin and Doris Leatherman of Sun City, Arizona; sister, Mary Rydell of Maryville, Tennessee; three granddaughters, Mary Lou Kinsey of Michigan, Connie Tracy and husband John of Ohio, and Paula Bain of Corbin; great-grandson, Michael Kinsey of Corbin; great-granddaughter, Nicole Renee Tracy of Ohio; special friend, Wayne Smallwood of Corbin; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends all who mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be at 1 pm Saturday, May 5, 2007 at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Sester and Rev. Mike Wynn officiating. Burial will be in the McDaniel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-9pm Thursday, 12-9pm Friday and from 11am Saturday until the funeral hour at 1pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
