Walter H. Lorette, age 74, of Corbin passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at the Oak Tree Hospital in Corbin.
He was born on September 5, 1931 the son of the late Felix Lorette and Bessie O'Brien Lorette.
He was Retired from the United States Army having served 22 years active duty. While in the service, he served in the German Occupation, two tours in Korea, and one tour in Vietnam. After the service, he was employed by the Raythean Missile Company where he retired from after 26 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Corbin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Frankie, Joe, Vern, and Herbert Lorette, and by his sisters, Shirley Sundstrum, Hazel Dennis, and Christine Weeks.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda "Pat" Lorette; Children, Michelle Lorette McKinney and husband Louis of Corbin, Brenda Lorette, Sylvia Boschetti and husband Tony, and Walter H. Lorette, Jr. and wife Danielle; Grandchildren, Amanda Patella, Morgan McKinney, Bianca and Chad Boschetti, Isabelle and Willem Lorette; Brothers, Carl and Ray Lorette; and Sisters, Pearl Koch and Abbie Nikiforakis.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, January 7, 2006 at 11am at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery with Military Honors by the American Legion Post #88 in Corbin.
Visitation will be from 7-8pm on Friday at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
