She was a steadfast Democrat and an election official in Laurel County. Wanda had been a faithful member of Lily Baptist Church for forty-eight years. Wanda at one time taught children in Sunday School, Girls in Action, and Bible School.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harvey David Grimes; a son, Michael Lawrence Harris; and all of her siblings: James Miles, George Miles, William Wiley (Bill) Miles, Reba Miles Neu, Dale Eugene Miles and Eula Faye Miles Ferrell.
Wanda is survived by two daughters: Mildred Haris Sanders of Lily and Sharon Grimes Kilburn, and her husband, Billy of Corbin. Daughter in law Michelle Harris of Williamsburg. She is also survived by her very special bonus children, H. Kenneth and Lila Grimes: and Karen Grimes Hall (Darrell), all of Ohio; Grandchildren: Susan Buckner, David Harris, Mark Parks, Jeff Harris, William Bennett, Tawni Kilburn, and Ashley Bennett, great grandchildren; Morgan Chesnut, Madison Chesnut, Ashton Chesnut, Zoe Parks, Danni Kilburn, and one great-great grandchild Loren Amburgey, along many other great grandchildren all who will miss "Mamaw" very much. Wanda is also survived by 29 loving nieces and nephews who mourn her passing. Wanda leaves her family and friends with her legacy of warm eyes, gentle hands, a humble heart and the ability to love and support each other through everything. She always signed her name following her sincere "all my love." We now try to find comfort wrapped in the abiding love. We will miss her.
