Wayne Dixon, age 76, was born on April 18, 1936 and went peacefully to be with the Lord on June 8, 2012.
He was a long-time employee of Pepsi Cola in Corbin. Wayne loved going to the auctions, watching his cattle, and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Damon and Ella Dixon, and by a Sister, Jewell Tuggle.
Wayne is survived by his beloved Wife of 55 years, Bonnie Dixon; two Sons, Clyde Dixon and wife Terri and Randy Dixon and wife Lorie; Grandson, Cody Dixon and wife Kayla; Granddaughters, Benea' and Amerah Dixon; One Great Granddaughter, Aubrey Rae Dixon; Three Sisters, Ruth Johnson of Indianapolis, Ruby Rose, Earlene and husband Harvey all of Corbin; Brother and sisters- in-laws, Ray and Helen Rees, Ruth and Everett Salmons, Bertha Rees, Verie Rees, Doris Rees, and Myrtle Rees, and by a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Funeral service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, June 10, 2012, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Dugger Cemetery on Liberty Church Road in Knox County. Pall bearers will be Starlin, Terry, and Denny Dixon, Shannon Rose, Clarence Brown, and Sammy Isaacs. Honorary pall bearers will be Eddie, Barry, and Maurice Rees, Scott and Mark Engle, Johnny Bunch, Mutt Payne, and Don Hutton.
Visitation for Mr. Dixon will be held from 6-9pm on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where messages may be written at vankirkgrisellfuneralhome.com
