William E. Meadows, Sr., 76, of Ferndale, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004 at the William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.
Born Oct. 6, 1928 in Wallins Creek, Kentucky, he was a retired machinist. He retired from the Detroit Coil Company in Ferndale with 30 years of service. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was awarded the Purple Heart.
He is survived by his wife Wanda M. Nicholson Meadows to whom he was married for 41 years. Also surviving are two sons, William E. Meadows and wife Cathy of Marysville, Michigan and Lawrence E. Meadows of Ferndale; and one brother, Paul E. Meadows of Leesburg, Florida.
Following a funeral service at 1:00 pm Friday, Oct. 29, at the Spaulding & Curtin Funeral Home in Ferndale, he will be laid to rest in the Pinehill Cemetery in Corbin. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, Oct. 30 at Pine Hill by the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. Military rites will be conducted by VFW Post 1410.
