William G. Dawn

William G. Dawn, age 74, of Corbin, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, at Baptist Regional Medical Center.
Born in Harlan, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Henry and Trella Anderson Dawn. He had worked as a truck driver and attended the West Corbin Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Rose; and his two brothers, Ernest Dawn and Kendall Dawn.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ruth Roark Dawn; four children: Barry Dawn of California, Anita Messer, Dana Gidley, and Kathena Young, all of Lexington, KY.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sisters: Ina Forch, Betty Hall, and Vivian Walker, all of Ohio, and Mary Young, Brenda Alder, and Sheila David, all of Williamsburg; and brother, Jerry Moses of London, all who mourn his passing.
Funeral service will be at 2pm Friday, Sept. 7, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Bro. Brian Burkhead officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Blake Gidley, Terry Gidley, Michael Young, Jack Messer, Rick Alder, and Brandon Sasser.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday, Sept. 6, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, 607 Master Street, Corbin, KY.
