William Theodore 'Ted' Proffitt

Ted Proffitt, age 67, of Corbin, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2014, at Continue Care Hospital in Corbin.
Born in Corbin, he was the son of the late Willie Proffitt and Opal Engle Proffitt. He was Baptist by faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers: O.D., Claude, Harrison, Eddie, Lee and James Proffitt; and three sisters: Corinthia, Georgie May and Ellen Proffitt.
He is survived by his wife, June Proffitt; two sisters: Josie Noe of Corbin, and Pearl Feltner of Rockholds; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends who mourn his passing.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, Jan. 16, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Cook officiating. Burial will be in the Stansbury Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12 Noon Thursday until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
