Wilma Jean Parrott

Wilma Jean Parrott, 74, of Gray, KY passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Baptist Health Corbin.
She was born at Blackstar in Harlan County, the only daughter of the late Arthur and Rachel Miracle Shipman. A brother Patrick Shipman and his wife Rita also preceded her in death.
Wilma had worked as a court reporter and been a secretary for Golden Oak Mining Co. She was a member of Richland Christian Church at Gray. Among her favorite activities were fishing, camping, traveling, quilting and flower gardening.
Her survivors include her husband, Leon Parrott; five children: Lisa Adams, Susie Howard, Tim Holbrook, Teresa Martin, and Tammy Wine; ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; three brothers: Luke, Herb, and Jim Shipman; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Wilma's funeral will be held at 4 pm Friday, October 23 at Richland Christian Church with Pastor Lucian Estridge officiating. Burial will follow at the Clouse Cemetery, with men of the Church serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6 until 9 pm Thursday at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, and from 2 until 4 pm Friday at the Church.
