Wm David Gaddis

Wm. David Gaddis, age 66, of Corbin, KY, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022, at Baptist Health Corbin.


Born in Corbin, he was a son of the late Herbert H. Gaddis and Billie Higgins Ferrell. David was a business owner in the oil and gas industry with KYTX Oil and Gas and Gaddis Gas Company. He was a devoted member of the West Knox Volunteer Fire Department, which became like family to him. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he had a love for horses. Most of all, David cherished his family and spending time with them, especially his grandchildren.


David was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert H. Gaddis, Sr., and Billie J. Gaddis Ferrell and stepfather, Bill Ferrell, sons, Micky Gaddis, David Gaddis, Jr., and Gene Herbert Gaddis, and a sister, Ann Black.


He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Sports Gaddis, sons, Michael Gaddis and fiancé Tiffany Walker, and Byron Martin and wife Tara, grandchildren, Makenna Gaddis, Micha Gaddis, Levi Gaddis, Luke Gaddis, Rebecca Browne and husband Michael, Kaleb Martin, and Miranda Broughton and Brandon, four great grandchildren, brothers and sisters, Henry Gaddis and wife Brenda, Marie Gregory and husband Jim, Wilhelmina Willis and husband Tim, Gary Black, and Herbert H. Gaddis, Jr., sister in law, Deloris Warren and husband Charles, special friend, Grover Lynch, a special brotherhood at West Knox Volunteer Fire Department, and numerous nieces and nephews.


A procession transporting David Gaddis and lead by West Knox Volunteer Fire Department will begin at 10:30am on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home and end at West Knox Volunteer Fire Department Station 3 in Gray, KY.


Visitation will be held from 11-2pm on Thursday, December 8th at West Knox V.F.D. Station 3, where his funeral service will follow at 2pm with Rev. Mike Fuson and Darryl Baker officiating.


In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted by the funeral home to help with expenses. The family will receive a record of all those who have helped.


Burial will follow in Gray Cemetery in Gray, KY.
