Zelma Decker

Zelma Decker, 84, of Corbin passed away on Monday, August 17, 2020 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. She was preceded in death by her husband Clinton E. Decker in 1983; her parents, Jeff and Rosa Belle Proffitt Helton; brothers Bill, Walter, Hubert and Jack Helton; sisters Magdalene and Mary Magdalene Helton and Geneva Carter; a grandson Shannon Hacker; great grandsons Brandon Decker and Jackson Good; a son-in-law Kenny Bunch; and a daughter-in-law Benita Decker. Zelma is survived by her 9 children: Patsy Bunch, Richard Decker, Ron Decker, Rosie Taylor (Freddie), Donald Decker, and Roberta Webb (Phil) of Corbin, Kathy Banta (Clinton) of Dalton, GA, Lois Wear (Bill) of Cohutta, GA and Lynn Decker (Cande) of Hammersville, OH; 20 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren; one sister Eleanor Bailey of Bethel, OH; as well as many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. Zelma lived a very active life. She enjoyed traveling, especially going to yard sales, and spending time on beaches in Florida. Growing up as part of a large family, she went on to have a big family of her own and cherished each member of it. Her visitation will be 6-8 pm Frida, August 21, 2020 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 1 pm Saturday, August 22, at the funeral home with Rev.
