Zesta Loeda Smith

Zesta Loeda Smith, age 84, of Orlando Florida, passed away peacefully at her home on February 24, 2022. Born in Corbin, KY on May 6, 1937, Zesta, our Kentucky woman, shone her own kind of light. Zesta raised her family in Fairborn, Ohio. She and Gar ultimately retired in Orlando. Every Sunday, Zesta felt blessed to attend services at Greeneway Church, her beloved "2nd home." She also looked forward to Greeneway's Monday night Bible Study at 7:00pm, her favorite hour of the week! Now, the brightest light in the room will continue to guide us like the North Star. Zesta was preceded in death by her husband, James Garfield Smith; Parents, Wilton Lee Scalf and Dorothea Purkey Scalf; Brother, John V. Scalf, and Sister, Leota S. Abdou. She will be immeasurably missed by her Children, Cathy Ayache and husband, Edwin, Joni Smith, Kelly Bass and husband, John; Grandchildren, Alexandra Carney and her husband, Andrew, and baby Luke, Danielle Jebailey and her husband, John; Katie and Madison Bass; Brother, Willliam Scalf and Sister, Debbie Midden, Aunt, Chestine (Tennie) Walters. Throughout the years, Zesta enjoyed cherished relationships with her nieces, nephews, cousins, and brothers and sisters in-law from the Scalf, Purkey, and Smith families. Predictably, Zesta also enthusiastically embraced "2nd Mom" status to her children's life-long friends, Stephanie McIntyre, Kim DeMaso, and Colleen Kruchem. While Zesta has gone on to her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior, she leaves a legacy of love to all who knew her. Zesta was a mother like no other and a friend to the end!
