MYERS, FLORENCE (née Blanton), beloved wife of James Creed (deceased); cherished mother of Bonnie (Michael) Hobbs, Harold (Pam) Myers, and three children who preceded her in death: David, Thomas and Cathy. A coal miner’s daughter with 13 siblings who grew up in Harlan, KY, Flo was a stranger to no one and a friend to all with her infectious smile. Many knew her as a longtime Lebanon City Schools bus driver (inducted to their Hall of Fame), a successful Avon sales rep, a volunteer greeter at the Lebanon Countryside YMCA, and a longtime member of the Lebanon United Methodist Church. She was a very active member of the Order of the Eastern Star Lebanon Chapter 343, where she served as Worthy Matron numerous times and was honored as Grand Representative to the state of Kansas. Flo is survived by her two children Harold and Bonnie; siblings Fred (Faye) Blanton, Rebecca (Arliss) Sears, and Howard Blanton; six grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was known as "grandma" to many. In addition to her beloved husband and greatly loved deceased children, Flo is preceded in death by her parents Jarrett James and Martha Jane Browning Blanton; siblings Orpha Dugger, Cecil Blanton, Edith Rose, Joyce Jean Diehl, Mary Jennings, Margaret Steel, Harold Blanton, Carl Blanton, Curtis Blanton and John Blanton. The family will receive visitors Friday, October 15, 2021 from 4-6 pm at Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home, 329 E. Mulberry St, Lebanon, OH. There will be an Order of the Eastern Star service at 6 pm, immediately following the viewing. The family will also receive visitors Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 2-3 pm at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, 607 Master St., Corbin, KY. At 3 pm, there will be a procession and graveside service at Calvary Cemetery, Corbin, KY.
