Pauline Boeckner, 94, of Corbin, passed away early Monday, April 23, 2018 following a long illness. She had been a resident of the Barbourville Health & Rehabilitation Center in Barbourville, Kentucky for the past three years.
She was born in Corbin, Kentucky (Laurel County) and was the daughter of the late Robert and Bertha McHargue. She was also preceded in death by her late husband, Charles Boeckner; sisters, Lida Bingham, Mae Meadors, Julia Lanham, Mary Jane Case, Ruth Atkins; and brother Robert McHargue, Jr.
Pauline was a very caring and giving individual. She knew no strangers. She was a wife, mother and homemaker for the vast years of her life. She loved collecting salt & pepper shakers and state plates. She also enjoyed gardening and cooking a great deal. She and her late husband, Charles Boeckner, made numerous quilts together.
Survivors include her daughter, Joyce Boeckner-Colabianchi (Antioch, CA); grandsons, Michael Southard (Jennifer) (Oakley, CA) and Matthew Southard (Antioch, CA); great-granddaughter, Ella Southard (Oakley, CA); sisters, Fern Felts and Thelma McHargue (Corbin, KY); and several nieces and nephews.
Pauline's funeral will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, April 30th at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, 607 Master St., Corbin, KY 40701. Burial will follow in the Felts Chapel Cemetery at the McHargue Family plot.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm Monday until the time of the funeral.
