Juanita "Zona" Helton, 71, of Corbin, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Born in Whitley County, Kentucky, Juanita was the daughter of the late Frank and Tilda Cross Helton. She had been an associate with Walmart for 17 years, and enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her grandkids.
She was also preceded in death by brothers Paul, James "Bo", Merriell, Monnis, and Jerry Helton; and sisters Gloria Helton and Iva Helton.
Surviving are her daughter Dana Bolton (Rusty) of Corbin; three grandsons: Anthony Walters (fiancee Kim) of Barbourville, Jamey Helton (fiancee Summer) of Corbin, and Jesse Bolton of Corbin; granddaughter Brittany (Jake) Abbott of Corbin; 5 great-grandsons: Brayden "Bo" Walters, Jaxon Walters, Jax Abbott of Corbin, Ricky Roberts of Barbourville, and Dylan Hampton of Hawaii; 5 great-granddaughters: Clarese Roberts of Barbourville, Elissa (Elijah) of Barbourville, and Roselee, Athena, and Iris Sebastian of Corbin; one great-great-granddaughter Braylee Messer of Barbourville, special niece Shirley Miles; sisters, Helen Elliott and Lois Bennett; special great-niece Maylee Helton of Corbin; special great-nephews Braydon and Steve Helton of Corbin; and many nephews, nieces and other family to mourn her passing.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Tye officiating. Burial will be in the Smith Cemetery at Faber.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Walters, Jamey Helton, Jesse Bolton, Brayden Walters, and Brayden Helton. Honorary pallbearers will be Jaxon Walters, Jax Abbott, Ricky Roberts, Dylan Hampton, and Steve Helton.
